Drone Footage of Tiger Shark Attacking a Sea Turtle

This is Part 2 of my search for Shark in Brazil. This footage was captured during my visit to Fernando De Noronha. It is an island located 300 miles off the northeastern coast of Brazil. Included in this footage is the first aerial documentation on record of tiger sharks attempting predations on sea turtles. As a result, continued monitoring of this bay has ensued by local scientists and the beach is now closed to human water activities. THIS VIDEO IS A COLLECTION OF MY PRELIMINARY OBSERVATIONS. FURTHER STUDY BY SCIENTISTS IS ONGOING & NEEDED. Co-existing with the sharks on the island is a major goal of local of the research being conducted there. Please refer to the studies below to learn, not just about the uniqueness of the tiger sharks at this island, but to also learn about the research being conducted there today. Current Research Projects include tagging via satellite transmitters to track movements in order to understand if sharks are actually becoming residents, if there are sharks that migrate and others don't, and what might encourage them to migrate or not. Furthermore, there is evidence of females with courtship marks. As a result, scientists want to understand whether they remain in the archipelago, feeding and gestating their babies in these productive waters, or if they migrate to other places. ------- Filmed under permissions granted by ICMBio https://www.parnanoronha.com.br/ The Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio) is an autarchy under a special regime. ------- Studies /Citations Genetic Tiger Shark Population Study https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/aqc.3029 Spatial Ecology and Conservation of the Tiger Shark https://www.frontiersin.org/10.3389%2Fconf.FMARS.2018.06.00021/event_abstract ------ DISCLAIMER: I'm NOT a marine biologist. Drone Footage of Lemon, Nurse, & Tiger Sharks in Brazil: Fernando De Noronha-PART 1

This is Part 1 of 2 of my search for sharks along the shores of UNESCO World Heritage Site, Fernando De Noronha, Brazil. The foraging behavior & movements of the various species on the island are important to the ecology of the island. In this video, we examine the importance of the sharks at the island.
